Wednesday 2 July 2014 (Day 7)

We are travelling from Adele Grove to  free camp 40 km East of Barkly Homestead

I'm a bit tired of dust, as beautiful and serene Adel's Grove is, it is incredibly dusty. The dirt gravel road has coated all outside surfaces with a heavy film so no matter where you lean or touch hey presto more dirt to arms, legs, knees or elbows, bums, jeans jumpers or shirts. We decided to shower after we had packed up or we'd be back to square one again.

Our showers were delicious though difficult to get the right temperature. Away and ready for the day ahead we stopped as usual for a driver change over only to find we'd broken the trailer brake cable, the trailer water tank cap was sheared off and the Anderson plug severed from the car...So Terry once again was able to repair the brake to a travelable standard the rest we await for repair in Camooweal which conveniently has a RACQ service repairer. $80 later we are all repaired and ready for go!

It's nearly 2.30pm and we are keen to make Barkly Homestead before sundown. We didn't make it by 5pm driving directly into the western sun we pulled into a free camp area which like the other one is well populated.  The sun it sets quickly once it gets going so it was a super quick feed and hit the sack, it has been a tiring and somewhat stressful day.
